THE ASSESSMENT

Starved, forgotten how to eat properly, didn't know what hard feed was, wormy with a shocking coat and like a Coat Hanger.

Which brings me to the subject of condition of your young Horse at the Breakers Place. There is no excuse for a Horse to drop back whilst at the Breaker. Our leave as good or mostly better than when they came. Either your Horse would have Veterinary problems or the Breaker is a slack ass incompetent who doesn't care. There is no excuse saying "but the fee doesn't allow me to feed hard feed" Then put the bloody fee up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make the Owner perform as well as we must. If they want to own expensive Horses and put all the expectations on the Trainer, make them perform. No excuse at all but you can all see can't you, that the Level 3 Coach who lives 26k away and who insisted the Horse be trucked another 1000k to her Breaker, either wasn't supervising the Trainer and certainly wasn't looking after the interests of the Owner, her Client.

FOAL ASSESSMENT

The Mare was a skitzo OTTB Man hater

He hesitates several times out of the gate to make sure Mum is coming.
31s he acknowledges my speaking, he first checks that Mum has come to a stand still
35s she checks me out
39 seconds with the mere take away of Mums neck, the Foal goes to leave me. That is how attuned they are.
42s she tells him to stay and relax
51s he checks me out to confirm what she said
53s same
56 seconds she makes her mind up to go. She tells him to stay. Just prior she sussed me out over the top of him.
1.06 she tells him to co-operate again
1.08 that magical string of the mare draws him to her again.
1.14 she completely decides he is in good hands
2.48 she checks if he is ok, decides he is and is in good hands.
2.52 she decides to go to back of vehicle and eat hay net.
835 Mare tells me that she likes me and that she wants to join the games. That she is helping me.
8.41 at liberty, she reacts to my body language and is drawn with me.
8.52 she reads my mind and is telling me to get going
9.06 He is telling me that he always goes into the round pen at the end, to allow his Mum to roll.
9.10 he gets shitty that I didn't listen
10.20 she really decides to me and join the game.
10.34 she thinks about Hay net again
10.43 she tells him to get on with it and to cooperate
10.52 she knows better than the foal and then look for reward from me
10.20 she makes sure she goes over trot poles, not around them as she knows that is what is required here
11,33 hay net thoughts again
11.35 he decides he wants a drink
12.18 foal gets stuck around the other side of mum. I pull on foal rope, Mum does turn on the hinds, answering to slight pressure on zone 2 from foal nose, which becomes an extension of my arm and she gives. Why would a Mare ever move out of the way for a foal? They normally wouldn't of course b she is tuned into me and heavily wanting to please.
12.38 an 43 he is in remote control trot pole Boy. On a zero.
13.oo check his tail, he is getting shitty with the higher demand
at 13, 13.41, 13.51, 14.07, 14.25, all flashes through his mind that he is entertaining cooperation
14.25 she checks it and lets him know it is ok. 14.37 she confirm what he has just done and makes sure it was safe.
14.50 onwards he is planning to cross it himself to get back to mum
15.20 hay net time
17.35 he is reassured by me
17.40 he is waiting for my next move, back concentrating on me, simply because I reassured him where he had been worried for Mum who had gone again.
18.30 she decides he has had enough and attempts to lead us back home
19.22 he knows the tying up system and goes into robot mode
19.38 she has her rump near to him to reassure him
20.03 I don't let his leg go until he settles and stops resisting. I ask for his legs on the zero, sliding up the scale to the minimum to get the job done, this case on about a 3.
20.36 they simultaneously move towards each other as I leave. Her for two reasons, t assure the foal but to watch me.
and there was much more of course. How did you go?
