1500? Go here for the best site and all the
info.
You would have to be nuts to have a modem now. You would also
have to be nuts to go with any of the big companies. Read the fine

PROJECT FOR YOU
What is your assessment of this horse? How many things can you
see wrong. What caused them, the reasons behind them, how to fix
them? It is a Level 2 Parelli horse, heading for Level 3. See how
you go.
Why
is it biting it's chest??
An
extremely complex horse
This mare has the complete gamut of psychological problems. See if
you can see at least ten of them. How many would you blame on the
horse? This is her first ride.
We are going to update the success or failure of our
attempts to help her. Stay tuned.
Nothing helps these horses like a trail ride. It is like
going to a detox unit. Although she has been trail ridden, you
will see her worry and then her improvement, in one ride. We
shall await with interest as to what effect this will have on
her flatwork tomorrow.
The horse does not have a walk, it over-reacts to leg and
especially through the canter transition.
You will note an over reaction to the rope and a failure to
accept leg. She had to be chased up to canter because of the back
cinch, which if not tested, can make them buck of course.
Here you will see the horse has found it's walk, it is
heading to a relaxed trot and then is a complete fistful at
the canter. After much thought, eliminating all possibilities
including Veterinary, we decided the problem was her learnt
and well practiced evasion of dropping against the inside leg,
lifting the head at her own desire and taking over via the
mouth.
Persistent and strong riding which saw the horse take
Mrs. HP on, suddenly the true rope halter trained lack of
mouth appears, fight, Mrs. HP's wins and the canter is on the
road to recovery. The horse uses the run against the inside
leg of the rider, the throwing of the head in the air and the
sudden lack of a mouth to beat the rider and to stop them
getting a canter transition. Caused of course by people. A
horse with true 'people problems'
To be successful in keeping the horse off the
inside leg, to stop it dropping the shoulder, bulging the rear
end into the circle and flying above the bit is to fix the
canter. For the horse to experience a comfortable canter,
rather than running like a dog, is to put belief into the mind
and therefore eliminate the tension.
The horse does not have a walk, it over-reacts to leg and
especially through the canter transition.
You will note an over reaction to the rope and a failure to
accept leg. She had to be chased up to canter because of the back
cinch, which if not tested, can make them buck of course.
My wife ran second in this test on her Champion young horse but
lost points on some of the movements shown here. See if you can see
the Veterinary problems.
This mare was here for our Stallion. He could not penetrate. Her
Vagina had been stitched by the Racing Industry and forgotten. She
had to be cut open. All relevant Drugs were used as were iodine
washes etc. Veterinary directions given to me.
This is my wife's darling Warmblood Stallion. A grandson of
Donnerhall. He is the ultimate smoothy. By the way....he ties up.
How handy?
Luv the webbing halter. (belongs to the horse hehe,)
This horse reared over backwards
through the arena fence and later suffered an attack of stress
Colic. It has had 4 more attacks of Colic since then (2 years) This
week, it died from a Colic attack. 16.7.05
The next project. This horse goes similar to an Ostrich. I didn't
capture it as bad as it was as I had done 2 days work b4.
This young horse had refused to cross the National Park step
over. He had two 40 minute long victories over his owners. This is
my attempt. Notice, at no stage do I have a two handed contact on
the mouth of this horse when actually fronting the obstacle. This is
how you ride a shyer.
The results of proper halter breaking of the foal. One of our two
year olds saving me a walk back to the paddock. I had to do 8 of
them. They all came the same way.
An example of the benefits of handling foals from birth. Four
yearlings in one horse float, loaded in the middle of 100 acre
paddock and traveled like babies. Handle them early, properly halter
break them and this is the result you get. Bomb Proof.
Next Project
This Mare has been shown English, been to Pony Club and generally
flat worked towards improvement. The horse has been most resistant
in the mouth and does not have a head set. Check out the body
language, the look in her eye and try to work out what she is
thinking.
The young lass riding the horse here rides as well as she
possibly can, given the quality of Instruction that she has been
presented with for 5 years. Pony Club and other outside people. She
lives and dreams horses, rides quite nicely but has never been given
the crucial information that see's a horse go properly. This means
that horses simply prefer a rider that does have the knowledge. None
of this is the young lass's fault, it is Pony Clubs fault and in
this case, our local Pony Club I am sad to say. Take note of the
body language and the facial expressions of the horse with Mrs. HP
and then progressively the young lass. It is these signs that see so
many bucked off and only because horses are better Judges than they
are given credit for. This is just another classic example of the
Pony Club system in Australia failing to teach the things that
count. You can't have it both ways, fun, fun, fun and no knowledge.
Horses will buck you off if you lack knowledge. Sorry.
Assess the horse and assess the float. Even though it is a brand
new well respected model. A thing that less than 1% of horse people
would ever consider doing. and...
Tomorrow.....the horse rearing over backwards, the destruction of
my new Cannon Video Camera and more.
Sorry...the owner would rather me not show it. I understand but a
pity. See this video hereunder. If this horse had received such
training, he would not be running through the hands of people.
Two of our Colt foals. Halter broken well but being finished off
completely. You will never see these two pull back and you couldn't
even make them do it if you tried. That is a guarantee of safety for
their future lives.
This young horse has some serious fear issues which he has picked
up some where along the way. Head shy, distrust and panic. I knew he
would be a worry to ride and so I prepared a mouth on him that I
knew that I may need, for if he got going things could have turned
nasty and his life going forward may not turn out as happy as if it
might if we get around him. You will note that all we got to do was
walk and very little of that too. He did lose it and the mouth over
powered his buck and flight. A powerful tool indeed. Thank the Lord.
He is coming along and I am gaining his confidence. His eye went
soft today and he is watching me as I move around the property,
rather than white eyes and head cocked away. He is still attempting
to buck but he cannot. This will overcome his desire to do it over
time.
Prior to this ride, this horse has had a total of 30 minutes of
ridden work. He had to be taken slowly for his frightened mind and
small successes had to be grabbed immediately. I rode him out the
gate today and with the traffic. We trotted and cantered, he tried
to buck 3 times but did not and then near home, I let the lead horse
leave me so that Mrs. HP could video.
The first ride of this impressive boy. He looks like he is a nice
quiet horse and with a nice way of going. Should make the grade. The
purpose of this video is to show you all the mouth or lack of a
mouth on ALL of these horses. He ran through a fence with his owner
last week, when the brakes failed. So many people think that you can
just go about doing your dressage thing with these horses but I am
sorry, that does not truly work. You are just hiding the real mouth.
The one beneath the surface that I continually talk about on this
site. Here it is on this video. Tell me how you fix this with
dedicated Dressage Instruction???
The Power of
the One Rein Stop and this time on a real one, not a make believe one.
If you grabbed this horse's mouth with the front brakes, you could kiss
your sweet ass goodbye. Still working on that one but first fix the
brain laterally, in readiness.
Trail ridden by me for a couple of
days. 2 days off and now.......
Here, the horse is back in the 20 metre
width arena and is commencing 'counter bend', having learnt to leg
yield. We need to control the outside of his body, especially
through the front shoulder, if and when he attempts to run out
through it in the future. He is being a perfect boy now and is
happy. See for yourself.
The next project. This little darling is here because she refuses to
go forward, kicks to the sky, lifts off the ground on the front end
and takes 2.5 hours to go into a horse float. A nice short video
that even the poor modem people might be able to see.
This is just a short assessment of this horse. She has been checked
by the Vet and passed OK. We shall see.
Day 2.
All fixed. No video
needed. Just needed the smack around her bum that you see in the
video and a couple of others. :)
17/10/05
First outing. 4 1st places and Reserve
Champion. :)
Now she has a kind, happy
face. The tail hangs loose and she listens. The rider has done a
wonderful job and the whole exercise has matured them both. Three
different Coaches had the opinion that the horse just didn't like
whips.
This horse owes his life
to me. Simple as that. He was difficult since birth but one of the
greatest moving Warmblood Horses going. His owner spend many years
trying to see reason with him, Breakers, Re-Educators and even a
Cattle Camp. All to no avail. She was and still is a fantastic Rider
and rides at the top level. In the end, after this horse eliminated
her at a big Dressage Event, by rearing and getting her
eliminated, finally lost patience with him. I purchased him from a
3rd party, on a dark night a long way from home. $300. He was headed
to the doggers yards. I didn't now who he was, had never heard of
him. His papers were on the front seat of my F-Truck the next day as
my two apprentice Horse Breakers were riding him in the Round Pen.
He was bucking and they were practicing. He had a Western Saddle on
and a back cinch. That's all. Mrs. HP walked around the corner and
almost fell over when she saw his movement. Asked who he was and I
said, "His papers are on the front seat." It was Gazette who was at
the 4th level Dressage and doing it mighty naughtily.
The second part of the
video shows him last week. He is now competing at the Olympic level.
Still a smart ass but manageable and since the fateful day where he
got it around the ear hole in the Dressage Horse, he has not reared.
As a study of the
personality of horses, this horse is the classic case. Don't ever
let anyone tell you that horses can't reason or plan. He does it
every day and still now, at 19.5 years, comes up with new ways of
attempting to exploit Mrs. HP. He fails but loves to try. Anyhow, he
is a lucky horse who gets looked after like the best of them and won
Lotto the night he met me.
Here is a small snip of my
latest completed horses. Total 23 days (15 under saddle) This is
what you should expect from your Trainer or this will show you what
is possible if you haven't experienced it. Her name is Jaylo and I
love her.
Videos now with audio.
Next Project. Come on your good judges. What is the matter with this
horse. The Coach of the Rider says call the Chiropractor. This is
Mrs. HP first 2 minutes of first ride.
This video shows a repeat of yesterdays
lame walk and the improvement one lap later, together with canter
day one and two. You can be the Judge. I submit that right b4 your
eyes, this horse is improving and will be fixed. Thus proving that
correct riding and correct training takes away the turmoil and
confusion from such a horse and showing it that there is actually a
better and more comfortable way to travel and that it no longer has
to compensate for rider error by manufacturing evasions that end up
altering muscle development and actually causing Veterinary
problems.
You may be the Judge but it would appear
that the Mare has come a long way and that the training method
adopted by Mrs. HP has been successful. The video has audio
commentary so my views are included. There is no doubt at all, that
correct riding and the knowledge of how to, has an enormous effect
upon the overall happiness of the horse. You may check out the tail
of the Mare and see it hanging loose, not behaving like a
Helicopter. The Mare is relaxed in the knowledge that this rider has
made her feel better and shown her the way to go around with
comfort. That makes a happy horse.
Day 4. No video but I rode her out in the
bush. Mouth substandard but a nice ride, quiet and bold enough to
make an eventer.
Here we have the young owner ride the
Mare, the Mare go back to square one, the Coach tell the Rider
things she had never been told and success. The greatest day in the
life of the young lass. Satisfying indeed. :)
This is a pet subject of mine and it shows how Pony Club and the
British Horse Society teaches you to lead horses and the results of
that system, versus the new age NH systems available today. It ruins
horses and cannot be justified no matter how well the debate may be
researched. If you want ignorant horses on the ground, just lead
your horse Pony Club style
The great Horsemanship Challenge held at
Equitana Asia Pacific recently. The crowd were whooping in
excitement and adoration of the young lad in the pink (wet) shirt. I
thought that the event itself was an appalling example of Horse cruelty, brought
about no doubt by the organizers who gave 2 hours to break these two
year olds in and to do a work out on them. Human nature did the
rest.
This is Regina and she has been ridden a total of 2
hours from totally unbroken. That includes the first Round Pen
rides. She has not cantered. I used her as one of the horses in my
DVD production of 'Mouthing the Horse' She is such a darling.
A snap shot of how the mind of a Horseman should operate
when asked to look at a Problem horse. To keep an open mind, to
eliminate the Veterinary and to LISTEN TO THE HORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ask yourself if this horse is
sound?
12th January, 2007. This horse has now
been operated on and is fixed. The Vets agreed with my opinion. I
hope the Coach reads this.
The results
of 'webbing halter'. Pony Club teaching and multi colored lead ropes
that suit poodle dogs, not horses. The horse and the young lady are
the victims in this scene.
The Chestnut horse pictured is a wind
sucker. The owner didn't tell us. The black horse is not but would
be a good pupil. Watch this for an indication of how dangerous it is
to allow these horses to mingle.

I am proud to have invented this system of
'Join Up' which is much faster and easy for you than the traditional
system. All horses that lack respect benefit greatly with this.
We assessed this horse as unsound at sale
about 3 years ago. It has come full circle back to us for an
assessment after lots of Coaches, Physios etc. You be the Judge.
Must be one sweet horse not to have bucked people onto the ass all
this time :(
The language of 'Eques'
Every day, around the World, hundreds of thousands of horses scream
out for help because they are hurting. They are normally called
'naughty' and sent for re-education. This is a snap shot of some of
the recent one's. We had 5 out of 5 a few weeks ago.
