Have you ever stopped to wonder what sort of start in life
your potential buy has had? Diet, training, veterinary, etc?
I have witnessed many
Veterinary problems caused by the lack of these things. Problems that have
rendered horses useless later in life.
-
During my career, I have noticed that a high percentage of
young stock of all breeds do not have the highly important nutritional start
that is needed for soundness in the years ahead. I wonder how many people
consider this when buying a young horse?
-
That is why we at "Gainsborough" are absolutely diligent about
the diet of mares and foals.
-
As a Career Horseman, I am seriously frustrated at the lack of
handling of most young stock. This then is another guarantee we are proud to
give. All of our young horses are given a complete behavioral and training
foundation for the future.
-
Complete documented records can be viewed by clients in
relation to worming, hoof trimming and inoculation and feeding regimes.
-
As I said, diet is all important. The complete balanced diet,
including all necessary minerals and supplements are provided daily to all
mares and foals at "Gainsborough"
-
Bone growth and bone protection is assured as all horses are
bred on flat ground with a limestone base. Irrigation is provided throughout.
(I meet many horses with bone defects
due to being bred on hills)
-
All foals are trained to lead, tie up, float and have
their feet trimmed during the first 4 weeks.
